If everyone in the world decided to make San Francisco City Hall their wedding venue, I wouldn’t blame them 🙂 Cayley and Alex enjoyed a beautiful wedding ceremony at the iconic San Francisco wedding venue, and I was blessed enough to capture it!
Alex is the brother of Brittany, who got married in Pebble Beach last year (you can view their wedding here!). I love when I get to photograph multiple weddings within a family; there’s nothing more special to me than being apart of the family in that way.
Cayley’s family flew over from Boston to celebrate their intimate wedding with them. After the wedding ceremony, we drove over to Crissy Field for some photos with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. It was a dream day considering the crazy spring weather we had!
Cayley and Alex went on to enjoy a private reception in the South Bay with their closest family and friends. The more I’m in the wedding business, the more value I see in these intimate weddings. Having more time with those closest to you on your wedding day is invaluable. Although having everyone you love in one space is an incredible part of big weddings, there’s often the pressure to greet everyone without being able to spend considerable time with them. An intimate wedding let’s you truly celebrate and give time to those you love most. My sister’s December wedding was very intimate, and it was so great getting to sit down with her at dinner and spend hours chatting, laughing, and celebrating her marriage with her.
Big weddings will always be fun and sweet in their own ways – and if that’s what someone envisions, they should run with it! But if you have an inkling of desire for an intimate wedding, I don’t think you would regret it. I think Cayley and Alex truly enjoyed the sweetness that their wedding day held; the stress-free nature of it, the fun, and the celebration. And it was such an honor to document such a beautiful day!
