Danny and Jess, together with their parents, wed at San Francisco City Hall in February. We were introduced by one of their friends, who happened to be my sister’s wedding photographer (and friend!) So thank you, Brandon, for connecting us! (Check out his work here, he’s an awesome photographer in LA).
Although I wasn’t supposed to be there for the ceremony, things were running behind at City Hall (that’s pretty typical). Since their appointment ran behind, I got there in time and was able to capture their ceremony. We knocked out some family portraits right after the ceremony- on the fourth floor as usual 🙂 If you follow any photographer who shoots at SF City Hall you’re probably tired of hearing about the fourth floor! But it truly is a different world than the rest of the building. Although it’s all beautiful, the fourth floor windows let in tons of light and the huge arches add architectural intrigue.
After portraits up there, we were able to get some shots in other parts of the building. After a few shots on the exterior of the building, we drove down to Pier 7 to wrap up. Pier 7 is different than the others because it was constructed with wood. You have the cityscape in one direction and the Bay Bridge in the other direction. There is some foot traffic, but usually when people see others taking photos they’ll try to stay out of the background.
Jess and Danny were naturals in front of the camera, as you can tell! Most couples feel awkward when we start, but with the right prompts and direction warm up quickly. We had such a beautiful and I hope you enjoy some highlights from Danny and Jessica’s San Francisco City Hall Elopement!
