“Hi baby, it’s Adelaide, your big sister!” My heart started racing and my eyes got watery as Adelaide and Phoebe climbed up onto the hospital bed to meet their baby sister for the first time. You could see the joy and pride on Katherine and Jay’s face as their big babies loved on their little baby. Adelaide told Lily about the things they had for her at home: dresses, shoes, and toys. When Lily started crying, Adelaide got very concerned and told her mama that the baby needed help. Phoebe wasn’t as talkative, but you could see the love plastered all over her face. She would stare at Lily for a long time, and then she would lean down and give her a kiss. The girls got to count her fingers and toes to make sure she wasn’t missing any. When Adelaide finished counting and realized her baby sister was perfect, she lit up with a big, proud smile. When the girls got to hold Lily on their lap, they couldn’t look away. I’ve never seen anything more sweet.

Before Jay brought the girls to the hospital, I got to spend some alone time with Katherine and Lily. The doctor came in to check Lily out, and Katherine lit up with pride when the doctor told her how beautiful and strong she was. Lily is the luckiest little girl to have a mama like Katherine. She is tender, strong, kind, and protective. The Adams family is so blessed to have this perfect (not so little) addition to the family. Likewise, Lily is so incredibly blessed to be born into a family that will love her fiercely.
