I’m not quite sure how time has passed so quickly…but we are just weeks away from meeting Duke!! After our doctor appointment yesterday, we learned he’s in position and ready to go…so now we wait 🙂
Last month my mom threw us the most wonderful baby shower; we felt so loved and cared for. Since then we’ve been busy preparing our home and hearts for his arrival. There were many nights I would stay up past midnight washing his blankets, decorating the room, organizing his dresser….the nesting instinct came on STRONG. Being physically ready has helped make me feel mentally ready. Greg, on the other hand, has been ready for months 🙂
Apart from some mild discomfort, I have felt great this last month! People ask if I’m “done”, and the answer is “not really!” Since I started going to the chiropractor my back isn’t hurting, I have really high energy levels, I’m sleeping well, and am savoring pregnancy before he’s forever on the outside. I feel better now than I did a couple of months ago, which I know is not the case for most people. Granted once I write this, I’m sure 10,000 uncomfortable things will come on at once 🙂
We’ve been working a lot with the dogs (mostly our crazy puppy Paisley) on being more controlled. I’m most anxious about how they will respond to the baby. They’re such lovers but are also very protective and territorial. Greg and I have done lots of research and have set up guidelines to protect both dog and baby from each other. It’s going to be a big change for them…but I’m sure they’ll adapt like champs.
Greg and I are so can’t wait to see who God has created this little boy to be; I cry just about every time I think about seeing his face for the first time. We would appreciate your prayers for a smooth delivery and a healthy baby boy! Here’s to hoping he doesn’t wait TOO long to make his debut 🙂
Here are some pictures from our beautiful shower! 🙂
